Intramuros is one of the most iconic places in the Philippines. It houses various historical landmarks, one of which is the exact location where Dr. Jose Rizal, the National Hero, was shot. This is the reason why Intramuros is a strategic location for those who want to stroll around without moving far away from the city.
Luckily, golfers who want a taste of this could enjoy a round of golf in Club Intramuros. It is a par-66 golf course which extends to only 4,151 yards. But do not underestimate this course as it could be really challenging. It has water hazards on almost every hole. Since Club Intramuros is only small, finishing the whole course would only take a little more than just two hours.
Built from history itself, the course was built in 1907 and is considered as the first golf courses in the country when the sport came here.
Club Intramuros has a driving range, a pro shop, halfway house, equipment rental shop, practice putting green, air-conditioned locker rooms, and shower facilities. If you want to dine in after a game, you may do so at their clubhouse – which has a restaurant in it. Their clubhouse also has a roof deck for viewing the whole field, function rooms, board rooms, and a music lounge.
Club Intramuros is open to the public but if you want to play in it, you have to place a reservation. Moreover, reservations are accepted through the telephone 2 to 3 days prior the date of play.
Getting to Club Intramuros is also easy. Actually, if you are coming from the airport, it would only take you 30 minutes to reach the course. Taxis are also scattered around the area. Should you want to play and stay, that is possible too. Various hotels are near Club Intramuros including the Bay Leaf Hotel, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel, Manila Hotel, Traders Hotel, and the Luneta Hotel.
