Bulacan is well known for their historical background. It is one of the most legendary provinces in the Philippines and is known as one of the eight frontier provinces who fought during the Spanish Era. Moreover, Bulacan also has a lush green environment perfect for a round of golf.
One of the famous golf clubs in Bulacan is the Royal Northwoods Golf and Country Club. With the picturesque views of Mount Arayat and Sierra Madre as your background, you will indeed enjoy every swing. Their course was designed by world renowned course designer, Graham Marsh. He used the natural rolling terrain of the area and used it to increase the difficulty of the course.
The 18-hole championship course is covered with Tifton 419 grass on the rough and fairways and Tifdwarf grass on the greens. Marsh did a good job on placing the sand traps, landscaped foliage, and water hazards around the course in a very strategic and artistic way. It made the game very interesting and challenging as well.
The greens’ average area is around 659 square meters while the fairways is at 80 meters. Shoes with soft spikes are required to avoid slipping.
Royal Northwoods’ facilities include practice putting green, a driving range, tee houses in the fairways, and storm shelters. They also have a clubhouse with amenities including steam baths, spa and massage beds, male and female lockers, jacuzzi, a huge dining hall, a grand ballroom, and a clinic.
Royal Northwoods is a private club and guests must be accompanied by members if they want to get in.
Members, on the other hand, can walk in and play anytime they want. When a tournament is ongoing, members are required to reserve their play date two weeks prior. The whole club is operating at 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM from Tuesday to Sunday.
